Samsung Galaxy S10 Can Be Unlocked By AnyFingerprint

Just like every other smartphone (ranging from cheap $200 Android devices to the premium Pixel devices), Samsung’s Galaxy S10 should unlock when using the fingerprint unlock.

Yes, that is obvious. However, what would you do if it unlocks the device even if the fingerprint does not match? Well, that is scary if you have important documents stored.

And, that is what happens with the new Galaxy S10. Samsung has a track record to take security seriously, but this time it looks like they have something important to patch.

With the help of some reports, they found out that if you are using a screen protector on your device, anyone can bypass your fingerprint unlock.

The flaw lets anyone with a different fingerprint unlock the device given that the smartphone has a screen protector installed. If you do not have a screen protector, you are probably safe.

We are not sure of the exact technical details now – however, it is applicable to the devices with screen protectors.

It is definitely a weird and annoying issue for users with a screen protector (almost everyone uses a screen protector nowadays).

Samsung has responded to the issue by promising a patch for it soon enough. There is no official word on the availability of the software update to fix the issue.

This is definitely a concerning issue for Samsung Galaxy S10 users. If you are one of them, you will have to wait for the patch to go live.

We will make sure to update the article if there’s a piece of significant information for the software patch.
